According to the prosecution, one Indrajit called Raju Ahmed alias Babu, son of Abdul Jabbar Sheikh of South Tootpara in Khulna, in the afternoon of May 17 in 2002 out of his house on pretext of going to Shankha Cinema Hall. Since then Raju, also an employee of Zahid Metal Works at Sher-e-Bangla Road in the city, did not return home.

Raju's father rickshaw-puller Jabbar filed a general diary with Khulna thana on the night of May 20 the same year in this connection.

Police arrested Indrajit on May 21 on the basis of allegation mentioned in the GD. Indrajit admitted to police during interrogation that he along with Ebadul and Abu Sayeed slaughtered Raju at the Arafat Housing Project area at Gallamari in the city on May 17 and dumped the body in a pond.

Khulna police recovered the decomposed body on May 21. The body was, however, identified as Raju by his father Abdul Jabbar.

The punishment of the fugitives will be effective from the day of their arrest or surrender, the court said.
