DCCKS cultural week ends

Principal of Notre Dame College Father Benjamin Costa distributes prizes among the winners in the city on October 14

The week was observed in search of talents among the Christian students in different fields of culture on the occasion of the 30 years of the event.

The association has been organising the talent search programme since 1975 to help promote indigenous culture.

This year around three hundred competitors took part in the competition in recitation, story-telling, painting, general knowledge, impromptu speech, Tagore song, Nazrul sangeet, and folksong.

Those who became champions in different categories are Jane Tuli Hawlader, Alex Joseph D Rojario, Dorin D Costa, Judi Sardar, Madhobi Gloria Costa, Orbin Anthony Rodricks and Alena Catherina Rosario.

State Minister for Education ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon attended the function as chief guest while Principal of Notre Dame College Father Benjamin Costa as special guest.

President of Agriculturists Association of Bangladesh Javed Iqbal, Chairman of Debate for Democracy Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron, News Editor of Channel i Shah Alamgir, News Editor of ATN Bangla Syed Ishtiak Reza, and President and General Secretary of the association Suvro Michael Rodrix and Sukhen Gomes were also present at the function held at Church Community Centre in Tejgaon.
