3 Indians on 5-day police remand

Earlier, they were taken on a five-day remand.

There are possibilities of sending them to the Joint Interrogation Cell (JIC) in Dhaka for further interrogation, sources said.

They were detained by the patrolling BDR jawans from bordering Kahorurhat area under Sadar upazila on Sunday, BDR and police sources said.

BDR filed a case against them and handed them over to Sadar police the same night. They were produced before a court of Panchagarh next day with a prayer for police remand. The court granted them five-day remand.

The arrested are Mohe Singh, 38, son of Khogen Singh of Naxalbari area in Darjeeling district, Ranjit Roy, 27, son of late Ramani Roy of Shalgara village under Bhaktinagar thana and Biplob Kumar Roy, 26, son of Gopal Chandra Roy of village Nabonagar under Falakata thana of Jalpaiguri district in West Bengal.

Some Bangladeshi and Indian currencies were recovered from their possessions at the time of their arrest, the sources said.
