'Lives of people now more insecure'

Bikkhubdo Nari Morcha, an alliance of aggrieved women, held a rally in the city yesterday demanding exemplary punishment to culprits responsible for series of bomb blasts across the country on August 17.

Reading out a statement at the rally at Muktangan, Rekha Chowdhury, a woman activist, said than any previous time after the bomb blasts.

The government is also treating the bomb blasts as a conspiracy against it and taking steps violating the constitution and human rights, she added.

Tasmima Hossain, Dr Hamida Hossain, Khushi Kabir, Sultana Kamal, Shamim Akter, Ayesha Khanom and Dil Monwara Monu took part in the procession.
