Hungary to invest in Bangladesh

Newly appointed ambassador of Hungary to Bangladesh Ivan Nemeth said this while he was presenting his credentials to President Iajuddin Ahmed at Bangabhaban yesterday.
The President said trade between Bangladesh and Hungary "is not at the expected level"--there is a scope for increase in volume and diversification of trade between the two countries.
He suggested that Hungary could import non-traditional items like ceramics, pharmaceuticals and leather products from Bangladesh, in addition to traditional ones.
He stressed the importance of contacts and interactions between chambers of commerce and industries and exchange of trade delegations between the two countries for promotion of trade and investment.
Welcoming Ambassador Ivan Nemeth, based in New Delhi and concurrently accredited to Bangladesh, Iajuddin said the cordial bilateral relations existing between the two countries and reiterated Bangladesh's determination to further consolidate and develop relations with Hungary.
The ambassador said that the relations between Hungary and Bangladesh are excellent and stressed increasing the trade volume between the two countries.
