5 killed in Naogaon road accident

The injured were rushed to Naogaon Sadar Hospital.

The deceased were betel leaf traders Mohsin Ali Modal, 40, Batuli Mandal, 40, Raisuddin, 50, Salil, 42, and Mansur Ali, 60, of Mohanpur, Rajshahi.

Sources said the truck from Naogaon was going towards Mohanpur with the group of traders on board. The truck skidded off the road and fell into a ditch as one of the tyres bursts at Khudra Narayanpur of Mohadevpur. The five people died on the spot.

Another report from Brahmanbaria adds, one person was killed and 40 others injured when a bus fell into a roadside ditch at Shahbajpur under Sarail upazila of Brahmanbaria district yesterday.

The victim was identified as Anwar, 30, the driver of the bus.
