Delhi Rejects Talks

Maoists blow up Bihar police post: 2 cops die

AFP, Patna
Maoist guerrillas dynamited a police station, killing two officers in eastern India yesterday, police said, a day after New Delhi ruled out direct talks with ultra-leftist militant outfits.

In a pre-dawn raid, some 50 guerrillas stormed the police station in Chabilapur village in lawless Bihar state, killing the two police officers and injuring two others, a police spokesman said.

"They attacked the building with dynamite and blew it up," the spokesman, who wished to remain anonymous, said in the state capital Patna, adding they also stole rifles and ammunition.
