More terror charges as London stays on alert
The three were indicted under the Terrorism Act 2000 Friday for failing to give information to police investigating botched attacks in London on July 21, which came two weeks after the July 7 bombings which left 56 people dead.
The court action followed Prime Minister Tony Blair's unveiling of tough new measures to crack down on Islamist extremism in the wake of the attacks, which have triggered London's biggest police operation since World War II.
Britain's most senior police officer welcomed Blair's announcement, while also warning that a third terror attack on the British capital was "likely," although it could be avoided.
"I have said since the first and the second strike that a third strike is much more likely, rather than less likely, but it is not certain," said Metropolitan police chief Ian Blair in a television interview late Friday.
