CPB protests fuel price hike
"When the common people are already in great distress due to flood, erosion, storm and price hike, the government has again increased the fuel price ignoring their sufferings", he alleged.
He urged the people to unite to oust the government.
The CPB chief was addressing a rally at Khilgaon in the city as part of the 10-day-long mass contact programme of the party to make its countrywide agitation on July 30 a success.
Monjurul Ahsan demanded compensation from Niko for the victims of Tengratila blowout and reopening of all closed mills and factories.
Party central leaders Ruhin Hossain Prince, Mahabubul Alam, Ahsan Habib Labloo, and Abdul Jabbar also addressed the rally presided over by Kartik Chakrabarti, general secretary of Motijheel thana unit.
The CPB will hold a similar rally in front of Purobi cinema hall at Mirpur in the city at 5:00pm today, says a press release.
