Five killed, 8 injured in Tangail road accident

A few passengers of a Dhaka-bound bus, which broke down, from Gaibandha were standing by the wayside in Ibrahimabad under Jamuna Bridge Eastern Bank Police Station.

A Shahazadpur-bound speeding bus from Dhaka lost control and ran over them at around 9:00pm.

Three unidentified passengers were killed on the spot, while two others -- Wahed Ali, 49, and Mohammad Abdul Baset, 25, -- died on way to hospital.

Abdur Razzak, 26, and Sohel Miah, 25, were admitted to Tangail General Hospital, while six others received first aid.

Police have seized both the buses but could not arrest the drivers.
