BCL, JCD clash at Ctg Law College, 10 hurt

At least 10 activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) were injured in a clash on the Chittagong Law College campus yesterday over students' union election.

The injured were identified as SM Lokman Masum, Azizuddin, Didarul Alam, Syed Hossain Sayed, Monzurul Alam Monzu, Mahiul Islam Sohel, Nazimuddin and Sanjoy of BCL and Jasimuddin and Jahangir of JCD.

The clash began when BCL activists tried to prevent JCD activists from casting fake votes at around 11.00am,witnesses said. The angry ruling party backed students' front activists attacked the opposition BCL men that triggered the clash. The BCL and JCD activists chased each other for around one hour on the campus.

Later, police brought the situation under control.

The college authorities at an emergency meeting postponed the election.
