5 killed, 20 injured in Munshiganj road accident

Of the dead, two were identified as Jamal, 45, and Shahidul, 40, hospital sources said.

According to locals, police and BDR sources, the injured were rushed to different hospitals in Dhaka and Munshiganj.

The accident occurred at around 5:45pm when a Tongibari-bound bus coming from Dhaka fell into a roadside ditch at Dhaka-Mymensing highway as its driver lost his control over steering.

The driver of the bus and four others died on the spot.

Quoting some injured, police said that during the incident about 40 passengers were onboard in the bus.

The para-military BDR, police and local people were conducting rescue operation.
