2 salvage ships to be procured
The government has a plan to procure two salvage ships in the backdrop of rising launch accidents in the country, Shipping Minister Lt Col (retd) Akbar Hossain told the Jatiya Sangsad yesterday.
Responding to a question by Jamaat lawmaker Mia Golam Parwar (Khulna-5), he said a PCP relating to procurement of two ships with 250-500 tonnes salvaging capacity at a cost of Tk 142.68 crore was already sent to the Planning Commission for approval.
