Ensure standard of higher education

The President, also the Chancellor of most public universities, who had worked long as a teacher of Dhaka University, urged the 19-member delegation to play a pioneering role in ensuring requisite standard of higher education.

He said, "The role of public universities is very important in advancing the country in the field of higher education in the 21st century competitive world of science and technology."

The delegation members stressed the need of constructing a building of the University Council.

Iajuddin assured them of all cooperation and said he, as a teacher, will partake of "any initiative towards expansion of education."

The delegation included its Chairman and Shajalal University of Science and Technology Vice-chancellor Prof Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, Dhaka University VC Prof SMA Faiz, Rajshahi University VC Prof M Altaf Hossain, Bangladesh Agriculture University VC Prof M Amirul Islam, BUET VC Prof M Alee Murtaza and Jahangirnagar University VC Prof Khandaker Mustahidur Rahman.
