Rab rescues girl, her 3 brothers

The arrested are Ismail, Sarwar, Saiful, Bhola Sheikh and Manik from Shimultaroi in Sariakandi upazila.

The elite force members could not, however, capture the abductors' group leader, Illias Sheikh.

The Rab said Illias Sheikh kidnapped one Abdus Salam's young daughter, Salma Khatun, and her three brothers from their house in early December last year.

On December 8, Illias Sheikh and his group had kidnapped Buli Begum, wife of Abdus Salam, from their house and murdered her in a nearby crop field.

Illias' men took Salam and his children to an unknown place as the children witnessed the murder of their mother.

Salam fled from their capture three months later, and a magistrate court in Bogra ordered police to recover his children following Salam's petition.

As police remained silent on the magistrate court order, Salam reported the incident to Rab.

Rab, after a brief investigation, arrested Sarwar and Ismail from one Tuku's house at Talpotty area in Bogra town.

Following their confession, Rab raided the house of one Manik at Chakoil village in Nandigram upazila and rescued the children.

They also arrested Saiful, Bhola Sheikh and Manik from the house.

The abducted children said the abductors inhumanly tortured them.
