Hartal called in Sylhet May 30
Greater Sylhet Ganodabi Paishad, a non-political forum in Sylhet, has called a half-day hartal in Sylhet on May 30 to press for construction of a hanging bridge over the river Surma in Sylhet city.
The programme was announced at a rally held at the Sylhet city point after a token hunger strike yesterday.
The speakers said, the hanging bridge project got approval twice in the ECNEC meeting while tenders were also floated and even soil tests were done. But, the project was dropped later on for mysterious reasons causing commotion among the people in the region.
