Bhuiyan tells govt employees
BSS, Dhaka
The government has announced the new pay scale for officers and employees despite its financial limitation to ensure their reasonable benefits and establish an efficient administration.

LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan said this at a meeting with the leaders of different employees associations, including Bangladesh Third-class Employees Association, at his official residence here yesterday.

He said the government believes that an efficient administration can't be built up without giving the officers and employees their due benefits. There is no alternative to build an efficient administration to alleviate poverty and develop the country, he added.

Fisheries and Livestock Minister Abdullah Al Noman also spoke on the occasion.

Bhuiyan said the government has announced a unique pay scale, which was accepted happily by all the officers and employees.

"You have got the new pay scale without any movement whereas many employees lost their jobs during the previous government for their involvement in the movement for pay scale," he said.

Bhuiyan said the foremost objective of the present government is to build a prosperous Bangladesh. The government has been striving hard for creating an atmosphere conducive to investment, he said.

"Being inspired with the government initiatives, largest Indian industrial group TATA and many entrepreneurs from Japan, USA, Qatar and other countries have shown their interest in investing in Bangladesh," he said. The opposition Awami League is out to destroy the investment-friendly climate by calling frequent hartals, he added.

He called upon the employees to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty to implement the development programmes of the government and make people aware of the conspiracy by the opposition party.

President of Bangladesh Secretariat Karmakarta-Karmachari Sangjukta Parishad Harun-ur-Rashid, secretary general Abdul Khaleque, president of Third-class Employees Union Jahanara Khatun, executive president Abdul Kader, president of Bangladesh Assistant Upazila Education Officer's Association Mamun Morshed, general secretary of Bangladesh Secretariat Personal Officer Association Nazrul Islam, secretary general of Bangladesh Diploma Nurses Association M Mofiz Ullah were present.

They thanked the prime minister and the ministers for announcing the new pay scale.
