Oppose hartals

"AL is trying to destroy the peaceful academic atmosphere and jeopardising the academic life of thousands of HSC examinees by calling hartals," JCD president Azizul Bari Helal told a rally here yesterday.

Dhaka University (DU) unit of JCD organised the rally to protest calling of hartal by AL the Aprajeyo Bangla.

Chaired by JCD DU unit president Hasan Mamun, the rally was addressed by JCD vice presidents Joyanta Kumar Kundu and Ekramul Huq Biplob and Organising Secretary Abdul Kader Bhuiyan Jewel and Office Secretary Shafin Ahmed.

Condemning the hartal during examinations, Helal said AL is trying to hide the real killers of its leader Bachchu by fishing in troubled water. JCD along with the general students will hold street protests if AL does not stop hartals, he added.
