President urges private universities

President Iajuddin Ahmed yesterday said the private universities will have to come forward to impart quality education to the students.

"The private universities have a great role to raise quality of education of the country up to the global standard," he said when a delegation of International Business Administration and Information System University (IBAIS) called on him at Bangabhaban.

The president said it was not possible to provide higher education only by public universities to the students of the country of 14 crore people, a Bangabhaban release said.

He said that the brain drain to abroad has been stopped to a great extent as the private universities have come forward to provide quality education to the students.

The delegation members informed the President that IBAIS has been playing an important role in social movement along with providing quality education to the students.

Dr Zakaria Lincoln, president, Board of Governors of IBAIS, led the delegation.
