Russia keen to set up solar power plant in Ctg

They congratulated Mohiuddin Chowdhury for his election as the Mayor of the port city for the third consecutive times.

Besides, the diplomats discussed issues related to the development of the port city and also the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and their respective countries, a CCC press release said.

The Russian Consul General during his discussion with Mohiuddin Chowdhury reiterated his country's interest to set up power plants in Chittagong. He agreed in principle to set up a modern solar power plant and a 10-megawatt power generation centre in the port city as per a proposal made by the mayor.

Both the plants will be set up under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis and the CCC will provide land, gas and other infrastructural supports to Russia to this effect.

Both the Russian and the Indian diplomats wished success of the Mayor.

Officials of the both sides were present during the meeting.
