Angry students barricade road in N'ganj
Students of Narayanganj Government Mahila College yesterday blocked the road at Chashara disrupting road and rail communications for at least couple of hours.
They were protesting the construction of a boundary wall by a local leader Juba Dal, a youth front of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), occupying the college land.
The agitating students later withdrew the barricade upon assurance from the local thana police at 2:30pm of necessary steps in this regard.
The principal of the college said the occupiers' claim of ownership of the land is not legitimate.
When asked, the accused Juba Dal leader Nazrul Islam Tutu, joint convenor of district Juba Dal, denying the allegation said, he owns the land by purchase.
