Killing of AL leader Bachchu condemned

In a statement, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) President Manjurul Ahsan Khan and General Secretary Mujahidul Islam Selim said the killing of Bachchu is the reflection of country's law and order downslide.

Demanding immediate punishment of the killers, the CPB leaders said the government's failure to control the deterioration of country's law and order is inspiring the criminals.

11-Party, a front of left-leaning parties, in a statement also condemned the killing of Bachchu and said the murder proves the government has failed to check law and order downslide.

Gono Forum General Secretary Saifuddin Ahmed Manik in a statement condemned the killing of Bachchu and demanded exemplary punishment to the killers.

In another statement, leaders of Bangladesh Bar Council also condemned the assassination and demanded immediate and exemplary punishment to the killers.

The signatories to the statement are Barrister Rokanuddin Mahmud, Advocate Yousuf Hossain Humayun, Advocate Sahara Khatun, Advocate ZI Khan Panna and Supreme Court Bar Association President Advocate Mahbuby Alam.

General Secretary of Workers Party of Bangladesh, Bimal Biswas in a separate statement also condemned the killing and said the BNP-led coalition government is taking revenge on the opposition parties of its political defeat.

Other organisations that condemned the barbaric killing of AL leader Khorshed Alam Bachchu are Sammilita Ainjibi Samannay Parishad, Bangladesh Awami Jubo League, Dhaka Ainjibi Samity, Bangladesh Awami Ainjibi Parishad, Bangladesh Supreme Court Ainjibi Sahakary Samity, Bangladesh Islami Ainjibi Parishad and Bangladesh Krishak League.

Mayor Sadek Hossain Khoka also condemned the killing.
