Two madrasa students held with guns

The police said a patrol team on suspicion challenged four men near Rangdhanu KG School in the town at around 3:00am.

As the four drew firearms, the police opened fire on them, injuring Raihan Sikder, son of Soleman of Mymensingh. They arrested Raihan and Belal Hossain alias Ramjan Ali, son of Soleman Munshi of Mostafapur village in Madaripur, with a revolver, an LG, two knives and eight bullets.

Raihan said he is a student of Jameya Rashedul Orphan and Qaumi Madrasa in Uttara in the capital. The other two, who escaped arrest, are Rejaul and Pintu of Madaripur and Gopalganj, he added.

Raihan was admitted to a local clinic under police custody.
