JCD demands Ducsu polls

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) demanded that the authorities immediately hold polls of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) and other students' bodies at different universities and colleges' across the country.

The JCD, student wing of the ruling BNP, made the demand at a rally on Dhaka University (DU) campus yesterday.

Addressing the rally, the JCD leaders said the Ducsu election must be held immediately for creating unique leaderships among the students. They said there is no alternative to Ducsu, which is a platform for the general students to voice their demands and a shelter for all the students' organisations to practice quality leadership.

They urged the university authorities to take proper measures to hold the election by this year for the greater interests of the common students.

Presided over by JCD DU unit President Hasan Mamun, the rally was also addressed by JCD Senior Vice-President Sultan Salauddin Tuku, Abdul Kader Bhuiyan Jewel, Jawanta Kumar Kundu and Shahnur Nargis and Afsana Akther.
