Dr Mosharraf urges voters from greater Comilla

Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Khondaker Mosharraf Hossain on Thursday called upon the CCC voters from greater Comilla for working hard to ensure the win of alliance nominated mayoral candidate Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin in the May 9 Chittagong City Corporation polls.

He said this polls is a fight between BNP-led alliance and Awami League. It is an election between Khaleda and Sheikh Hasina, the minister added calling for united work for Mir Nasir shunning any sort of regional sentiment and in the greater interest of the port city as well as of the country.

Mosharraf was addressing as chief guest at a huge gathering of the voters hailing from greater Comilla, B'Baria and Chandpur at MA Aziz Stadium Gymnasium premises to drum up support for Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin yesterday evening.

Fisheries and Livestock Minister Abdullah Al Noman, State Minister for Land Ukil Abdus Satter and Chittagong district MP and former commerce minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury also addressed it.

Mir Nasir, the candidate and the state minister for civil aviation and tourism and president of Chittagong city unit of BNP, attended it at special invitation.

Former Minister Redwan Ahmed MP, Quazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad MP, Mohammad Monirul Haq Chowdhury MP, MA Matin MP, Mohammad Abdul Gafur Bhuiyan MP, SA Sultan MP, Quazi Mohammad Anwar Hossain MP, Colonel (retd) Anwarul Azim MP and other stalwarts of the ruling BNP-led four-party alliance also spoke seeking votes for Mir Nasir at the gathering.

Professor Dr Mahbub Ullah, member of Bangladesh University Grant Commission, presided over the gathering titled "Sujan-Swajan Sammilon."
