Equal provision for workers demanded
Bangladesh Obhibashi Mohila Sramik Association (Bomsa) urged the government to keep equal provision for male and female workers in the national migration policy.
At a May Day rally in the city on Sunday, they demanded of the government to ratify the International Convention-1990, reduce the passport fee, fix up a minimum wage for the migrant female workers and enhance their skills before sending them abroad.
The Bomsa leaders also urged the government to reorganise the migration system by issuing legal contract papers between the recruits and the recruiting agencies.
Bomsa leaders Lily Jahan, Sheikh Romana and Sumayia Islam were present at the rally among others.
