Condition of Journalist Murad critical
The condition of injured senior journalist Wahidur Rashid Murad, who is undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital, is stated to be critical.
Murad, former vice president of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) and executive member of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ), was seriously injured in a road crash on Monday night at Mirpur when two Volvo buses collided.
The accident killed five people, including one of the two drivers and a woman and injured many others.
Murad was first rushed to a local clinic in a sub-conscious condition and later to Suhrawardy Hospital, from where he was shifted to BSMMU as his condition deteriorated on Wednesday morning.
He is now under treatment of Dr Kanak Kanti Barua at bed number 15 of the emergency Neuro Surgery ward of the hospital.
