They also recommended for strengthening the monitoring mechanism of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartipakkha (Rajuk) to ensure proper building code for reducing risk.

Ministry of Food and Disaster organised the meeting in the city under the auspices of its Comprehensive Disaster Management Programme (CDMP), supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

A total of 60 representatives from different organisations, including UNDP, Bangladesh Army, police, fire brigade, Department of Mass Communication, Rover Scout, Bangladesh Disaster Preparedness Centre participated in the meeting.

Food and Disaster Management Minister Chowdhury Kamal Ibn Yousuf in his speech sought support and suggestions of all concerned to improve the response and rescue mechanism for better disaster management.

Brac University Vice Chancellor Professor Zamilur Reza Chowdhury suggested a standing order on building disaster, mentioning the roles and responsibilities of concerned organisations to face such a situation.

Disaster Ministry Secretary Muhammed Fazlur Rahman and executive director of the Bangladesh Disaster Preparedness Centre Saidur Rahman also spoke.
