Garment workers to lay siege to home ministry

Jatiya Garment Sramik Federation and Bangladesh Garment and Industrial Workers Federation will lay a siege to the home ministry on April 28 demanding immediate arrest of the owners of Spectrum garment factory at Savar.

This was announced by the leaders of the two federations after a Gaybana Janaza at the north gate of the Baitul Mukarram Mosque in the city yesterday for the salvation of the departed souls of those killed in the collapse of the factory building.

"Some other like-minded organisations too have expressed their solidarity with the siege programme," said General Secretary of Jatiya Garment Sramik Federation Amirul Haque Amin.

Conducted by former MP Advocate ANM Yusuf, the janaza was

attended by Shafiqur Rahman Majumdar and Abdul Kader Hawladar of Sramik Karmochari Oikya Parishad, and Kazi Mohammad Ali and BM Abul Hossain of Garment Sramik Oikya Parishad.
