JU body to probe JCD factional clash

The probe body, headed by Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Enamul Huq Khan, was asked to submit its report by April 27.

Meanwhile, the students of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Hall urged the university authorities to ensure security for their life.

At a press conference yesterday, they said they were confined to the hall since the clash. They could not go outside the hall even to collect foods for fear of attacks, they said.

A sense of insecurity has gripped the students and teachers as the cadres loyal to president and general secretary of the JU JCD are still flexing their muscle on the campus.

The students also demanded an impartial probe into the incident and exemplary punishment to those responsible for the clash.

They also urged the central committee of JCD to take effective action against the JU JCD men for torturing the students of the hall.

The activists aligned with president and general secretary of JU JCD allegedly snapped the water supply to the hall at around 3:30pm and also threatened to cut off power supply.
