Formulation of strategic transport plan finalised

The DTCB, which formulates and implements transport plans, is now holding seminars and symposiums with different organisations to gather opinion and suggestions.

After gathering suggestions, the strategic transport plan will be submitted to the government and then DTCB will take future programmes on its basis after its approval by the authorities.

This was told at the 11th meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Communications yesterday, according to an official release.

A report on the overall progress of the DTCB was also discussed at the meeting.

Chaired by committee Chairman Syed Monzur Hossain, the meeting was attended by its members Communications Minister Nazmul Huda, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, M Mostafizur Rahman, Ataur Rahman Khan, M Harun-ur Rashid, Dr Mohammad Ali and M Nadim Mostafa.
