Medical representative chopped to death

He was identified as Rafi-quzzaman Linkon, 38, of Dakkhin Para Chuadanga. His job was based in Panchagarh.

Kotwali police sources said, Rafiquzzaman, husband of Naznin Akhtar Shefa,a lecturer of Upashahar Mohila College, Jessore, came here by a train at about 4:00am yesterday.

He took a rickshaw to the Central Road residence of his wife. On the way, he was chopped to death by the unidentified killers.

The rickshaw-puller brought the body and his belongings to the 250-bed Jessore hospital and fled away.

A total of Tk 14,000 in cash, a cell phone, a table fan and a gold ring were found in his possession.

The incident, similar in kind to the murder of Jubo League activist Shahadat Hossain Babu by his fellow party men on Tuesday night, indicates a total deterioration of law and order situation of the town.
