Prisoner dies in Sylhet jail

Shahabul, 27, son of Abdul Haque of village Kala Sripur under Tahirpur upazila of Sunamganj district, had been in the jail for the last few weeks in a police-case.

He died at 2:45am and the jail authority handed him over to Kotwali police. He was sent to the Osmani Medical College morgue on the same day.

His body was handed over to his family yesterday. The reason behind the death could not be ascertained immediately.
