Habiganj By-election
All Nominations valid
Nomination papers of all five candidates contesting for Habiganj-3 constituency were found valid after scrutiny yesterday. The Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer for the by-election, scheduled for 25 April scrutinized the nomination papers, official sources informed.
The candidates are Abu Lais Mohammad Mubin Chowdhury of BNP, Abdul Muktadir Chowdhury Oku of Jatiya Party (Ershad), Krishak Mohammad Sadeque (Krishak Sramik Mukti Andolan), Syed Mamun Miah (independent) and Mokbul Hossain (independent).
Muktadir is the former district joint secretary of JP (Ershad). Last date for the withdrawal of nominations is April 7.
