One murdered in Sonargaon clash
A man was killed and a dozen of people were injured in clashes between two rival groups at Anandabazar area in Sonargaon upazila in Narayanganj on Sunday.
Police sources said armed goons of Sarkar group hacked Rafiqul Islam to death when he was going to bazar at about 7:30am. Rafiqul Islam was son of late Hasan Ali of Panchabati at Orakandi area of Anandabazar.
He was a witness in Gafur murder case. Gafur was a member of Galuia group.
Sarkar and Galuia groups have long been engaged in factional feud.
Meanwhile, supporters of Galuia group attacked the houses of Sarkar group injuring a dozen of people following the death of Rafiqul.
Police arrested five people in this connection. A tense situation was prevailing in the area.
