A month-long US-Bangladesh joint military exercise ended in the border areas of Cox's Bazar and Bandarban districts yesterday.

Brigadier General Humayun, commander of 69th Infantry Brigade at Bandarban, was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony at Ramu.

When contacted, an official of Bandarban cantonment said the exercise 'Balance Buffalo' was aimed to train soldiers to jump from the sky with parachute to rescue disaster-hit people.

During the exercise, a four-member US military team visited some remote forests of Jaruliachhari, Pinechhari and Lemuchhari of Naikhangchhari upazila under Bandarban district.
