Govt blamed for not taking initiatives to nab culprits
Addressing a meeting in remembrance of Prof Azad, the speakers also blamed the government for not taking any initiatives to nab the culprits though more than one year has passed.
The meeting was organised by Bangla department at the Teachers Students Centre.
The speakers said those who opposed Prof Azad's writings in parliament were responsible for the attack.
They lamented that Bangladesh is a country where one could not get justice from the government and other authorities concerned.
Latifa Kohinoor, wife of Prof Azad, said her husband was a man of free thoughts and always wrote against the communal elements for which he had to give his life.
Dr Anisuzzaman said the Bangalee nation would always remember Prof Azad for his immense contribution to Bangla literature.
Presided over by Chairman of Bangla department Prof SM Lutfor Rahman, the meeting was also addressed by Prof Ahmed Kabir, Prof Sadrul Amin, Dean of Arts Faculty Prof Nurur Rahman Khan, Prof Abdul Jalil, Prof Rabeya Moyeen, Prof Rafiquallah Khan, and Baitullah Kaderi.
