Fatullah people demand closure of dyeing factories
Several thousand people of Fatullah residential area yesterday brought out protest procession and demanded shutdown of more than 50 dyeing factories in the area terming those risky after Saturday's boiler blast at a dying factory in Kashipur under Fatullah Police Station.
Agitated locals also staged sit-in in front of dyeing factories, prompting some of them to shut down.
Additional police were deployed at Kashipur, Bholail, BSCIC and Sonargaon area to avoid any untoward incident.
Three people were killed and several others injured in Saturday's boiler blast at Rapid Dyeing Factory.
The nephew of the deceased Tofazzal Hossain lodged a case with the Fatullah Police Station yesterday morning accusing Anwarul Islam Farhad, Farid Uddin and Helal Uddin of the dying factory for the incident.
