Rob, family members implicated in false case

A senior officer of security cell of police headquarters in Dhaka visited Jessore on Sunday to investigate the cause behind lodging the FIR on Wednesday night with Kotwali Police Station naming a six-year old boy Imon, his parents, elder brother and college-going sister as accused for rape and rioting.

Inspector Zahid Hossain talked to the complainant and BNP leader Shamsuddin and prime accused Krishak League leader Abdur Rob, OC Abu Hena, recording officer of the case ASI Humayun Kabir and Investigation Officer (IO) Sub-inspector Khalilur Rahman during the investigation. He also visited place of occurrence and found no evidence of rape and rioting except the evidence of a dispute over possession of a building between the two parties. Court gave injunction on the disputed house till disposal of the case.

Local people told Inspector Zahid that Krishak League leader Abdur Rob and his family members have been implicated in a false case with the help of OC Abu Hena without any preliminary investigation.

Security cell is the intelligence wing that works under direct supervision of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for carrying out investigation into corruption, irregularities and malpractices of policemen of any rank and file.
