Education UK Fair begins in city Mar 10
Speaker Mohammad Jamiruddin Sircar will inaugurate the fair at Sheraton Hotel.
The British Council will also hold a two-day fair at Hotel Agrabad in Chittagong from March 15, said the officials of the council at a press conference yesterday.
Dr June Rollinson, director of the British Council, said the fair would help establish bridge between the British educational institutions and Bangladeshi students.
She said the number of students as well as the participating institutions have been increasing every year.
The fair will provide information about the British education system, guidelines for higher education in the UK, and admission procedures.
Interested students and parents could get more information by talking directly to UK institutions and their representatives, the officials said.
Lawson Ross, first secretary (immigration and consular) and Peter Bridge of the British High Commission and Raiqah Ripa Walie, education promotion and marketing manager of the British Council, also spoke at the press conference.
Some 25 universities and colleges are expected to take part in the fair.
The Dhaka fair will remain open for public from 10.00am to 7.00pm while the Chittagong fair from 11.00am to 7.00pm with an entry fee of Tk 30.
