Militants issue death threat to AL leaders
Just banned Islamist militant group Jamaa't-ul-Mujahideen yesterday issued death threats to seven leaders of the Awami League and its front organisations in a letter sent to a local newspaper office in Tala upazila.
The leaders are President of district Krishak League and Hindu Bouddha Christian Parishad Bishwajit Sadhu, Tala unit President Sheikh Nurul Islam and General Secretary Ghosh Sanath Kumar, Nityananda Mukharjee, Nasir Uddin and Ashoka Lahiri.
Jamaa't-ul-Mujahideen termed the seven enemies of Islam in the letter written in red ink and sent by post to daily Patradut.
The seven leaders will face the fate of former finance minister SAMS Kibria, the letter read.
