Former envoys condemn Kibria killing

The Association of Former Foreign Service Officers of Bangladesh expressed deep shock at the killing of former finance minister Shah AMS Kibria and demanded an independent, credible and transparent investigation with international support to bring the perpetrators to justice.

At a condolence meeting on Wednesday, the association members strongly condemned the heinous and dastardly killing of the former diplomat in a grenade attack in Habiganj, said a press release.

Chaired by the association President Tabarak Husain, the meeting was attended by former ambassadors.

Paying tributes to Kibria, they recalled that the former diplomat made significant contribution to the service of the world community as well as the nation as a freedom fighter and finance minister.

Held at the residence of the association's Vice-President Muhammad Mohsin, the meeting adopted a number of resolutions calling for a fair investigation into the inhuman attack.
