AL condemns Karimganj murder
The main opposition Awami League (AL) has strongly condemned the government for implicating its 700 leaders and workers in Karimganj AL activist Nabi Hossain murder case.
In a statement yesterday, AL General Secretary Abdul Jalil said the JCD activists, backed by police, attacked an AL rally at Karimganj in Kishoreganj and killed Nabi Hossain and injured many others.
"Despite that a false case has been filed against 700 party leaders and workers, including former MP Mizanul Huq," he said, adding that the government was playing a game with Nabi Hossain's body.
The AL general secretary urged the government to withdraw the false case filed against party men and arrest the JCD cadres involved in the killing.
He also urged policemen to perform their duty neutrally in the interest of the state, not as the private force of a party or a person.
