Mizan Murder

Hearing on charge-framing January 31

Court Correspondent
A Dhaka court yesterday fixed January 31 for hearing on charge-framing against former Awami League lawmaker Haji Mohammad Seilm and 31 others, accused in the Mizanur Rahman murder case.

Judge AR Masud of the Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 adjourned the hearing following a time petition by the lawyers of the lawmaker.

Advocate Quamrul Islam, Selim's counsel, in the petition told the court that he was not prepared for hearing on the issue as his senior Abdul Baset Majumder could not appear before the court yesterday due to illness. So he prayed for adjournment of the hearing.

Selim and 24 others, now on bail, were present in the court during the hearing while Zoynal Abedin and two others are in the custody. Accused Shafiq and three others have been absconding since the incident.
