Trader killed in road accident in Manikganj

The victim was identified as Moksed Ali, 48, of Maniknagar village under Shivalaya upazila.

Police and eyewitnesses said he was knocked down by a speeding coach belonging to Druti Paribahan while crossing the road at 11.30am. He died on the spot.

As the news spread, local people got angry and put barricade on the road for about half an hour.

Traffic however resumed after Assistant Police Superintendent Nazmul Hasan reached a compromise with the local people.
