3 fugitive convicts arrested in Ctg

Fatikchhari police arrested one Jahurul Haque, 70, son of late Siddique Ahmad, of Kanchannagar Majuripara at around 2.30am yesterday from his village home. Jahur has been absconding since he was sentenced to seven days' imprisonment in a case eight years ago.

Boalkhali police arrested 60-year-old Abdul Jabbar, son of late Nashrat Ali of Sarwatali from his residence at around 8.30pm on Monday. He has been absconding since he was sentenced to 14 months' imprisonment in a case about ten years ago.

Police nabbed another convict Mohammad Emran, 23, son of Jamir Ahmad, of Deotala in Anwara Upazila, on Monday night from his village home. He was sentenced to three months' imprisonment in 1985 but has been absconding since then.

The three were sent to jail yesterday, police said.
