Shibir leader expelled from DMC
Dhaka Medical College (DMC) authorities yesterday expelled a student, also a Shibir leader, from Fazle Rabbi Hall for violation of dormitory rules.
A three-member committee headed by Prof. Amzad Hossain, chairman of Orthopedic Department, recommended the DMC authorities to expel Arifur Rahman , a leader of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of the Jamaat-e-Islami, when Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) activists complained against him.
The JCD demanded ban on Shibir politics on DMC campus. The Shibir activists swooped on the JCD men leaving at least 10 injured on January 5.
The JCD men blamed Arif for violating the dormitory rules as he took his girlfriend to his room at Fazle Rabbi Hall on January 1.
