Alliance govt strengthens fascist culture: BSD

The four-party alliance government has strengthened the fascist culture by introducing elite forces in the name of combating crimes, said Abdullah Sarkar, a leader of Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal (BSD), at a public meeting yesterday.

The meeting was organised at Gaibandha on the sixth day of the party's fortnight-long campaign against the present government.

Abdullah said the activities of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) could not stop crimes in the country.

Rab is now killing criminals, but soon it will start killing the left-leaning people, he alleged.

BSD is demanding resignation of the government, withdrawal of increased price of fuel, and permanent solution of monga and floods.

The meeting also urged the authorities concerned to stop eviction of rickshawpullers and hawkers without their proper rehabilitation.
