11,000 posts for doctors to be created

"The Ministry of Establishment has already given permission to create the posts and the process is now underway at the Ministry of Finance," Health Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain said yesterday.

The minister was inaugurating Rajshahi divisional conference of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) at Bogra Rural Development Academy here. BMA representatives from 16 northern districts attended the conference.

He said one of the election pledges of this government was to reach medical facilities to the doorsteps of the rural people and that commitment will be fulfilled with the final approval and appointment of the physicians.

The function was also addressed by BMA district unit President Dr Shah Md Shahjahan Ali, Whip Rezaul Bari Deena, Golam Mohammad Siraj MP, Helaluzzaman Talukder Lalu, Kazi Rafiqul Islam, BMA President Prof MA Hadi and General Secretary AZM Zahid.
