Mohammadia Housing estate officer shot dead

A gang of three armed youths sprayed bullets on Mohammad Majul Hossain, 38, indiscriminately in front of Rayerbazar mausoleum at about 9:15am when he was walking on Basila Road, said witnesses. Majul is an estate officer of Mohammadia Housing Limited.

He was rushed to Bangladesh Medical College. He was shifted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) as his condition deteriorated. Doctors declared him dead at 10:30am.

Police sent the body to morgue for autopsy.

The body bore mark of bullet injuries in his chest, stomach, right leg and forehead, morgue sources said.

Victim's brothers, Bellal Hossain and Golam Hossain, suspect that he might have been killed following a dispute over land with their neighbours.
